    A Moment With Police Horses

A pleasant experience. A day well spent with a wonderful gathering of horses.

    Cherry Blossoms DC 2026

There’s nothing outside of Japan this time of year like the blooming of the Japanese Cherry Blossoms in the nation’s capital of Washington, DC.

The U.S. Capitol Grounds and U.S. Botanic Garden

There’s always something to document in the nation’s capital and that’s what I love to do. This film footage captures the U.S. Capitol grounds as well at the Botanic Garden next door.

I’ve been in the Capitol many, many times and I’ve visited the U.S. Botanic Garden on several occasions but only on the outside. This time I decided to go inside to check it out.

On "No Kings" day, kites were in the air

One of my favorite events on the National Mall is the annual Kite Flying gathering where any kid or kid at heart can through a piece of paper attached to a string in the air and see if it will stay there.

Mix that with a day of protest on the National Mall as well as around the country, and you have a day to remember. This short film captures a bit of both and shows that while we are staggering to the finish line of our 250th year in existence, there’s also time to appreciate what we do have and the traditions that do get advanced from generation to generation.

    The District Wharf

Like many U.S. cities, the nation’s capital continues to experience a renaissance in areas of the city that were once ignored. The Wharf was one of those parcels of land that was highlighted by old seafood restaurants and a major Washington fish market.

I created this film as a way to document the culmination of the rebuilding effort in that part of town which I have been documenting since 2010 when none of these structures existed.

Testing out the Blackmagic Design 6K Pro Cinema Camera

The Blackmagic Design 6K Pro Cinema Camera was the first digital cinema camera I ever purchased. I couldn’t wait to test it out.

I was able to create a few short films like this film using this incredible tool but within 3 years, I was drooling over the new Blackmagic Design Pyxis 6K box-style Cinema Camera. After I purchased the Pyxis 6K, here comes the Pyxis 12K Cinema Camera. I’m tempted to get it but I think I’ll wait.

This film is just me running around DC during the day into the late evening seeing what this camera can do.

President Barack Obama at Safeway in 2014

I had the opportunity to video President Obama giving his economic speech at a Safeway Distribution Center in Upper Marlboro, MD in 2014.

Safeway was a client of mine for 14 years which gave me the opportunity to be there with the press. I had contacted the White House Press Office days before requesting the President autograph a photo I took of him back in 2004 when he was running for the U.S. Senate. That dream came true the day of the event when I delivered the poster-size prints to my White House contact and she returned them to me signed after the event. What a day that was. And the President’s presentation was pretty good as well.

The Mighty O'Jays Inducted into the Rock N Roll HOF 2005

Working with the O’Jays was a real thrill for me over the years. But the greatest thrill was having the opportunity to meet up with them in 2005 at the Waldorf Hotel where they were inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. It was really thrilling for the O’Jays.

I followed them around all day and when the festivities started that evening, I was the only photojournalist “inside” of the ropes while I was able to observe the hundreds of journalists and photojournalists in the roped off stands shoot in my direct. Still a strange feeling to this day. Enjoy the journey and their performance. If was my first & final time experiencing that event.
